Anonymous inquires:
Dear Miss Candice,
I have recently been diagnosed with a hernia; sleep apnea; adrenal exhaustion; heavy metals toxicity; and hypothyroidism. I will be having a hernia repair operation quite soon. I feel the physical issues are related to Waking Up. Can you recommend something that will support me in shifting from 3D consciousness, to Unity Consciousness? To expand into my Higher Self, and be moved by Spirit instead of ego? In my process, I find myself sabotaged by hidden beliefs and programs, and just want to rid myself of them.
Thank you!
Dear Anonymous,
I am glad you wrote me sweet one. My strongest feeling after reading over your letter is that you are having a difficult time incarnating firmly into your body and at times this world is a scary, ugly, inhospitable place that does not make sense to you. Your physical symptoms tell quite the story to support this. The first thought that came to mind is a quote from Eckhart Tolle's book, The Power of Now, where he describes what is going on in your body so eloquently:
"Stress is caused by being here but wanting to be there, or being in the present but wanting to be in the future. It's a split that tears you apart inside."
That is your hernia literally manifesting from your internal energetic split out to your physical body--the tearing apart of your flesh, "being here but wanting to be there," and yearning for the future. For you, I believe the "future" and the "there" mean reuniting with spirit. Not everyone suffers from separation from spirit, but stories from the beginning of time are riddled by those sensitive souls who ache and yearn for that "oneness" that unities them with spirit. I believe your sleep apnea, which literally means "without breath," are your soul and spirit reaching out to the heavens trying to "go back home" when your conscious mind is asleep and the deepest part of your self is left to rule.
Your exhausted adrenal glands, on a basic level, release the famous fight or flight chemical we hear so much about in stressful situations. I would venture that this world is abrupt and caustic to your gentle spirit, so your subtle self is often "startled" and tries to "fly," if you would, leaving you tired, drained, shaky and exhausted.
This adrenal condition frequently accompanies hypothyroidism. In your case, this condition seems to fall into the signature of doctrines. That is, its meaning is reveled in its shape and behavior of the object. The thyroid is a gland located in the lower part of the neck, below the Adam's apple and it wraps around the wind pipe (trachea) and has a shape similar to a butterfly, formed by two wings (lobes) and attached by a middle part (isthmus). Interestingly enough, women are 8 times more likely to suffer from this condition than men.
I have found in my practice over the years that the throat chakra is most likely to be out of balance for a yin personality. Note that yin does not necessarily mean being a woman, but rather embodying some of the more beautiful traits typically associated with the female form, but which can manifest in either a masculine or feminine body. Some examples are being sensitive, receptive, emotionally and spiritually aware and empathetic. The throat chakra (vishuddha or fifth chakra) is connected to thyroid gland, and this chakra's name translates to mean pure. Imbalance often comes from not being able to purely express one's self in all spaces in one's life or not being able to be in ones true vocation. In any case this energy center demands that we as humans live in the pureness of who and what we are intended to be.
Since the thyroid gland is in the shape of a butterfly, when it is out of balance, it indicates a great need for graceful transformation into a pure state of being where one's inner-most self is honored, to bring balance; this need for change is beautifully illustrated by Deepak Chopra in his book, The Book of Secrets:
"The greatest hunger in life is not for food, money, success, status, security, sex, or even love from the opposite sex. Time and again people have achieved all of these things and wound up still feeling dissatisfied--indeed, often more dissatisfied than when they began. The deepest hunger in life is a secret that is revealed only when a person is willing to unlock a hidden part of the self. In the ancient traditions of wisdom, this quest has been likened to diving for the most precious pearl in existence, a poetic way of saying that you have to swim far out beyond shallow waters, plunge deep into yourself, and search patiently until the pearl beyond price is found."
The pearl is also called essence, the breath of God, the water of life, holy nectar-labels for what we, in our more prosaic scientific age, would simply call transformation. Transformation means radical change of form, the way a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly. In human terms, it means turning fear, aggression, doubt, insecurity, hatred, and emptiness into their opposites. Can this really be achieved? One thing we know for certain: The secret hunger that gnaws at people's souls has nothing to do with externals like money, status, and security. It's the inner person who craves meaning in life, the end of suffering, and answers to the riddles of love, death, God, the soul, good and evil. A life spent on the surface will never answer these questions or satisfy the needs that drive us to ask them. Finding the hidden dimensions in yourself is the only way to fulfill your deepest hunger."
Dear sweet one, the blend I am creating for you will allow you to gracefully transform any aspect of your life that does not support the true essence of who you are. Also, this blend will address your not feeling safe, whole and comfortable in your body and help shift your awareness to the divinity of being alive in the body you have now, in the life you are living now, and to strip away from your eye's any veils that are remaining so you see clearly.
I have also included in this blend a shift in perception on ego and what role a healthy ego plays in your life--as I would bless you to have a healthy ego, neither distorted and enlarged nor shriveled and small (as both are protection mechanisms that create unnatural responses). When you are faced with choices in life and someone or something else is pressuring you, I wish for you an ego that will confidently lead your actions, so you are not in reaction and there is no undermining of self or personal sabotage. Rather, as you stand at the crossroads of life, you will have the self love and firmness in self to pause and sort out priorities and motives and the potentialities of the situation before you head down the path, knowing that in order for clarity to develop you must resist inner pressure to decide precipitously, but rather, honor all of your feelings and all of who you are.

Peering into the spring, the face of one's true self is revealed. This essence is also very grounding.
Cottonwood - The South (by Ancient Forest Essences): This vibrational essence is created from two venerable cottonwood trees and it resonates with innocence, trust, and relationship - seeing another through the eyes of compassion, opening your heart to wonder. It helps one to walk in beauty and softness, and to see through the eyes of a child. Through that lens, great wisdom and truth are to be found.
Avebury Stone Circle (by Ancient Forest Essences): This vibrational essence was created in the lap of trees which are part of the ancient stone circle in Avebury, England. This essence carries the exquisite energies of this healing site, resonating with fertility in all aspects and the dance of life, and loving to be in your body and being able to enjoy the sensual aspects of life, the beauty of touch, interpersonal intimacy, wonderful music, food and scent, to reawakening the freedom to be sensual in a soulful way, shedding centuries of conditioned response and guilt. This essence is about aligning with purpose, allowing one to focus with such clarity that nothing stands in the way.
Golden Lodge Pole Pine - The Center (Ancient Forest Essences): This essence is made from a golden glowing tree in the remote High Sierras of California. This is the energy of the "center," of holding firm, remaining present, open and unwavering, in the heart of life, no matter what comes. It is the seat of non-judgment, being patiently present to what is before you, the firmness of discipline. The way of the "center" is radical trust, not to cut and run, to know that all is well no matter what the appearances.
Red Cedar (Ancient Forest Essences): This essence is made from the huge trunk of an ancient Red Cedar in the Olympic Peninsula that has broken open, creating a chalice which receives the open sky; this is the essence of being in the heart, in joy, in the moment, being a vessel filled with spirit here on earth, and being present here and now.
White Cherry Plum (FES): This vibrational essence gives the gift of spiritual surrender and trust, feeling the guidance and protection of a higher power, balance and equanimity despite stress. It helps one overcome the fear of loosing control, healing the energy of an emotional or mental break down, and it heals desperate or destructive impulses that undermine one's true self and desires.
Chrysanthemum (FES): Use this vibrational essence for shifting the ego identification from one's personality to a higher spiritual identity; feeling oneself as transpersonal and transcendent, helps integrate firm understanding of all levels of personality from the basest to the highest glowing aspect of spiritual self, understanding the role each play's and lovingly embracing each aspect of self to understand divine timing and at which junction each aspect of self should be used.
Shooting Star (FES): Use this vibrational essence to humanize spirituality, for cosmic consciousness warmed with caring for all that is human and earthly; helps heal profound feelings of alienation, especially not feeling at home on earth, yearning to return to source and not being able to experience the joy in the now of being alive.
Pearl Gem Stone (any brand will do): Use this vibrational essence as nature intended, to take any irritant that flow's into your life and turn it into a pearl of great price, meaning emotional (since it is ruled by the water element) understanding of undesirable situations and turning it into something beautiful through true understanding of the energy of the situation.
Butterfly (Tier-Essenz): I have taken an excerpt from Jaime Sams' book on Animal Medicine, as I believe she embodies perfectly the understanding of our animal teachers.
"Butterfly?that flutters in the morning light, you have known many forms, before you e'er took flight."
"If you look closely at what the Butterfly is trying to teach you, you will realize that it is the never-ending cycle of self-transformation. The way to discern where you are in this cycle is to ask yourself:
1) Is this the egg stage: Is it just a thought or idea?
2) Is this the larva stage: Do I need to make a decision?
3) Is this the cocoon stage: Am I developing and doing something to make my idea a reality?
4) Is this the birth stage: Am I ready to share my completed idea?
By asking yourself these questions, you will discover how Butterfly is relating to you at this moment. When you understand where you are, the symbol can teach you what to do next to continue the cycle of self-transformation. If you have found the position through which you are cycling, you will see the creativity of Butterfly."
Sensitivities
Did you know that flower essences have no fragrance? Instead, they work on a vibrational level, transmitting patterns based on the plant's devic archetype, or the vibration of a holy place, or an archetypal energy like that of a butterfly. These essences act like a template or blueprint to help us stretch our existing vibrational pattern to be able to encompass and expand into something completely new to us, or reinforce and stabilize our subtle-bodies when they feeling taxed with a pattern we are already familiar with.
This also means there are no contraindications outside of alcohol sensitivities, as vibrational essences consist only of water, brandy, and the angelic over-lighting presence of the plant (that which makes the plant divine versus its mundane or earthly gift), or the vibrational pattern that is the underpinning of the item, place, or idea.
