Finally, 2008 is OVER. Yay! I'm always up for a fresh start, and the beginning of a new year is the best time. The sun has begun its inspiring course toward longer days, the holiday debris has been swept up (mostly), we're enjoying our holiday gifts from loved ones, and now it's time to get back to business!
Here in Western Oregon and the Portland Area, we saw over 15 inches of snow over the holidays--the most in 40 years! Needless to say, we're not used to it! So, now that it's melted off, we can get out and dust off that cabin fever, and can actually walk outside again without slipping--and take the car out of 4-wheel drive.
Our local feng shui expert, Gwynne Warner, has some great ideas for "getting on with" 2009, and making it the best year ever in her article (see link below). So we've been cleaning, re-arranging and de-decorating! Make it shine for 2009! I especially like her suggestion, "INCREASE THE LIGHT in your environment. Dust all of your light bulbs and replace with higher wattage and new lamp-shades, if necessary. Wash your mirrors. Clean your windows. Welcome the energy of 2009 with open arms, great joy, beauty and festivity as you would a beloved friend and honored guest." Thank you, Gwynne!
Of course, it's back to yoga again for us. I found a great resource for yoga classes and trainings in the Portland Area I've been inspired to share: Yoga Calm for Children. Check it out. It's great!

6 Ways for Overcoming Common Reasons for Unhappiness
At the 2008 Happiness & Its Causes Conference in San Francisco, a wide range of people--from scientists, doctors, and psychologists to artists, philosophers, and Tibetan Buddhists--offered their thoughts on the topic. Here are a few of their tips for overcoming six common barriers to happiness.
Happiness Barrier No. 1: Complexity Solution: Simplify
Schooled in Buddhist monasteries since childhood, Thupten Jinpa, PhD, knows a thing or two about the benefits of simplicity. Why do you think monks and nuns shave their heads, he asks? For one, it simplifies their lives. Happiness Barrier No. 2: A Breakneck Pace Solution: Take a Pause
The same culture that entangles you in a web of complexity may also have you on the constant chase, Jinpa says. "That kind of tension takes a toll on your soul and your psyche." Whether you call it meditation, silence, or prayer, taking a "pause" just a few minutes a day can help you "recharge your batteries" and make you feel happier. A good time to do this is in the morning. Without it, your life may feel out of control. Happiness Barrier No. 3: Negativity Solution: Let go
If you believe your abusive boss, father, or partner is the main cause of your suffering, for example, then you?ve tied your own hands and risk becoming imprisoned by toxic thoughts. The Buddhist view, by contrast, is that happiness is what you get when you give up a neurotic state of mind. Happiness Barrier No. 4: Despair Solution: Stay hopeful
Set personally meaningful goals and check to see where your hope falters--is it with the plan or the motivation? Allow yourself to daydream--It's a wonderful source of hope and, therefore, happiness. Happiness Barrier No. 5: Suppressing sadness Solution: Feel the real
By suppressing sadness, you suppress other, more positive emotions, as well, researchers note, so people who try to suppress emotions actually become more anxious and depressed. Happiness Barrier No. 6: Navel-gazing Solution: Connect with others
A recent 20-year study of more than 4,000 people showed that happiness is influenced not just by your immediate friends and family. The happiness of a friend of a friend of a friend -- someone you?ve never even met--can also influence your happiness. It turns out that happiness can spread through social networks, like a virus. >>> MORE > USE FORMULA E-1 > USE TOPAZ GEM ELIXIR
Feng Shui to Welcome the New Year
Feng Shui expert, Gwynne Warner, gives loads of tips on clearing out the old and bringing in the new--opportunities, relationships, new situations. Gwynne says, "Welcome the energy of 2009 with open arms, great joy, beauty and festivity as you would a beloved friend and honored guest. Refresh your 'Mouth of Chi' aka the FRONT ENTRANCE to your home or business. Clear anything blocking your entrance; give a fresh coat of paint to your front door in a bright color and..." >>>> MORE
Life Energy Pack
Hook your body up to a life energy battery! Give your body the energy it needs to heal itself. Most naturopathic physicians will tell you that the main problem with giving herbal formulas or homeopathics, is that very often their patients' bodies lack enough ENERGY to fully utilize the healing properties of the medicines. To help fix this, the doctors will then prescribe dietary fasts, massage or acupuncture in an attempt to get energy into the body system. Once this has been done, then the herbal formulas will have much more punch and less waste.
Modern-day quantum physics has begun to scientifically explain these ancient practices, and new technologies are now available as a result. Quantum physics refers to this life energy, or "chi," as SUBTLE ENERGY. Without having to get too technical, the laws of quantum physics allow that life energy can be transferred from one substance to another. This is where the Life Energy Super Pack comes in... >>>> MORE INFO

By Dr. DicQie Fuller-Looney, Women's Health is a definitive look at the relationship between digestive enzymes and hormones, and how hormonal imbalances in women can be traced back to enzyme deficiencies. This book is a logical, no-nonsense evaluation of the current medical approaches that overlook digestive enzymes as an ultimate solution. Dr. Fuller-Looney makes her case by showing that the symptoms of protein malabsorption are the same as the symptoms of menopause. DOWNLOAD HERE
