Hello!
Broccoli Pesto Pate Broccoli makes a great addition to raw pate, especially since it contains as much vitamin C as an orange, along with magnesium, the mineral that is central in green chlorophyll, and calcium. When you make pesto with Vegetarian Support Formula nutritional yeast, it's also a good source of B vitamins, including vitamin B12.
3 cups chopped broccoli florets Put the broccoli into a large bowl and pour 1 quart of nearly boiling water over it. Drain the broccoli after 1 minute and plunge it into cold water. This will turn the broccoli bright green and make it more palatable without negatively affecting the nutrients. Drain the broccoli well and place it on clean kitchen towels to remove any excess water. Set aside. Combine the basil, oil, nutritional yeast flakes, miso, garlic and salt in a food processor fitted with the S and pulse to chop the basil. Add the walnuts and the reserved broccoli and process until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. Store in a sealed glass jar in the refrigerator, Broccoli Pate will keep for up to three days. Enjoy this summer time treat with bounty from your local Farmer's Market! Until next time... In vibrant health,

What I've Learned about Life from Drumming in a Band I always say that drumming is my favorite thing to do, and I've been very lucky (as well as enough of a maniac) to do it professionally for over 30 years. I've travelled the world because of it, and have made most of my closest friendships around it. I have most of my joyful moments doing it, and have been healed and transformed in so many ways by drumming. I do also enjoy participating in drum circles, ritual drumming, playing hand drums solo, or just tapping or banging on stuff (much to the chagrin of an ex-wife, and my mom); but where I get the most enjoyment is playing the drum kit in a band. And I've been very fortunate to have played music with hundreds of wonderful local, regional and national level artists, and have been in some great bands with professionals I admired and loved over the years. >>>> MORE
VIBRANT LIVING TIP OF THE WEEK
Cancel Negative Emotions Instantly Most of us are fortunate that we can resolve to create new, healthier patterns before our unwanted ones become normal behaviors. Perhaps you've heard of this exchange between the patient and the doctor: Patient: Doctor, when I do this, it hurts. Doctor: So, don't do that. That may seem to be a simplistic solution, but it's quite accurate and highly effective when it comes to behavior: If you're doing something that makes you feel unhappy, anxious, or feel some other negative emotion, don't do it. Whenever you feel a negative emotion - impatience, frustration, jealousy, etc., try to intentionally change what you are feeling to something positive. With practice, you'll learn to do it at will. Positive emotions that work especially well for this are compassion, care and appreciation.
Changing an undesired pattern of behavior or a recurring negative emotion may not happen instantly. After all, you've been creating your patterns and experiencing these emotions often for years. Researchers at the Institute of HeartMath, however, have conducted studies in which many people were able to change what they were feeling within minutes, even seconds and experience a wide range of benefits. >>>> MORE Thanks to Sue Childre, Heartmath Institute
