Tues., Nov. 18, 1997, Salt Lake City, UT, Deseret Inn -- Here's a shot of the van in dire need of washing. There's almost a half-inch of road mud on the running boards. Getting nearer to home...I shopped at a Fred Meyer for food... I keep looking for reasonably-priced phone cards without much luck, so I stopped by the SLC Downtown Public Library hoping for internet access with Lynx, so I could telnet into my POP server for e-mail. Alas, their internet terminals were all bound up with Internet Explorers as the ONLY configuration. Salt Lake is a pretty city nestled in some mountains, but with loads of construction going on in the area we were. It was my turn for my own room, so I relished the circa-1961 stylings and HBO + 5 channels on a broken-down, untunable TV. We play the Zephyr tonight two blocks away. I spied three Portland bands on the club schedule while walking by--all alternative rock bands. I wonder about the crowd on "blues Tuesday", but there's a Jazz home game tonight, so maybe we'll get some of that after-game action.
